| SERVING IN HOPE APPEAL JANUARY 2010 |
| January 21,2010 DEAR FRIENDS, As you know, THE ST. VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY is an international society. Our work and our commitment reach beyond every border to link with Vincentians around the globe. This point is particularly important as we gather our resources to help our brothers and sisters in Christ suffering in Haiti. The work of rebuilding Haiti will not be accomplished today, tomorrow, the next day, or even next year. But we will begin today with both financial and prayerful support of our Haitian brothers and sisters who are truly suffering and in need of our compassion and mercy. We have been asked by both our National and International Councils to be as generous as possible in supporting the aid work of our Society in Haiti. Thank you, in advance, for your support of this effort. We have been blessed as a Council here in northeast Nebraska. We are now being called to share some of those blessings to relieve the devastation in Haiti. Please make donations payable to your local Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Haitian Relief Fund OR WRITE TO US AT: Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Haitian Relief Omaha District Council 4320 Fort Street Omaha, NE 68111 Should you PREFER to contribute directly to the National Council PLEASE VISIT THE SOCIETY'S NATIONAL Web-Site at: http://www.svdpusa.org OR MAIL DIRECTLY TO: It is in these difficult times that we discover our greatest strengths. I am confident that the full Council of the Omaha District will reach out with love and dignity to the Haitian people fighting to survive. Serving in Hope, Joseph D.
