Food Pantry / Omaha, NE
The Omaha SVdP Food Pantry was started by a group of local
Vincentians in 1998. The pantry became a welcome alternative
for those seeking food assistance in the
Omaha community. Since those early years, our number of individuals
served has grown significantly and continues to fill a
need in the downtown area.
We are blessed with dedicated volunteers who are there on bagging days
(Mondays and Wednesdays) and on pantry days (Tuesdays and Thursdays).
They give of their time, not only handing out groceries to those in line,
but also in serving with hospitality, compassion and kindness.
We often hear from volunteers telling us how much they value
their time spent at the pantry.
Our food inventory is constantly replenished in various ways.
One huge venue is through food donations from various local and
regional business donors-some of them weekly, throughout t
he year. This ongoing support from local and
regional businesses is greatly appreciated.

Hy-Vee, 50th & Center / 108th & Fort
Marathon Ventures, Bellevue
Quality Refrigerated Services, Omaha
Tecumseh Poultry, LLC. / Waverly, NE
We also receive food donations throughout the year from local parishes,
schools and businesses that hold food drives to benefit the SVdP Food Pantry.
Without their help, it would be difficult to maintain the inventory
we need to help fill the need for our clients.
Another source for our inventory is the Omaha Food Bank of the Heartland.
The SVdP Food Pantry is grateful to have a relationship with
the Food Bank where we are able to make reduced-rate bulk purchases
of items and to receive USDA items using funds received from our donors.
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry is always seeking
donations—both in food and funds to help keep our shelves
filled and the doors open. With ever-increasing needs, the
St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry invites you to help meet the needs of
those who are hungry and who turn to our food pantry for support.
Almost 16,000 individuals were served last year.
You can help us in
